About the event
Welcome to our new PopUpScience Centre.
We are open for families and young people each Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 3.30pm. Drop in and join us at any time - entry is FREE.
We will be discovering different scientific concepts through our shows and activities each day in a fun and interactive way. There will be plenty of time to explore our hands-on exhibits too, and our Science Communicators will be on hand to answer any questions you have.

11am Pop Rockets
Rockets aren't all about fire and explosions, we can also use chemical reactions to make things take off. Explore the use of a chemical reaction to fuel a "rocket" made out of a film cannister.Join in with our show

2pm Gums to Bum
Discover what happens from the moment food enters the mouth, all the way until it reaches the toilet. See a series of gruesome demos, which need several volunteers to help along the way.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. Most suitable for children aged 7-11 years. Younger siblings will be able to join in with some adult support.
