Summer at The Grand Arcade

We are open for families and young people each each day through the summer holidays from 10.00am to 5.00pm.  Drop in and join us at any time - entry is FREE.

We will be discovering different scientific concepts through our activities each day in a fun and interactive way.  Each week we will be exploring a different theme. This week our theme is DNA.

We will have four activities focused on each theme which our Science Communicators will offer as best suited to the audience.  Activities will be chosen morning and afternoon, so there will be an activity on offer whenever you decide to visit.

This week, activities will be chosen from:

- DNA bracelets

- Paper chains

- It's all connected

- Paper beetles

- Fossil rubbing

STEMtots will also be running in the room at back of the unit and will run throughout the day. STEMtots is aimed at toddlers to 5 years. The STEMtots activities will focus on a theme each week. The week will all be about Dinosaurs.

There will be plenty of time to explore our hands-on exhibits too, and our Science Communicators will be on hand to answer any questions you have.

Make sure you take a look at the other activities and displays in the Grand Arcade as our themes will be linked throughout the summer.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. 

Most main room activities are suitable for children aged 7-11 years.  STEMtots is aimed at toddlers to 5 years.
