HALF TERM at March Community Centre

OUR THEME TODAY IS ROCKS

Open to the public each Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 3.30pm, families will be able to enjoy free entry to explore our hands-on STEM-based exhibits, join in with our shows or have a go at one of our activities.

Activity

11.00am     Ride the Rock Cycle

Discover what happens to rocks as they tumble through our environment by becoming a rock in the rock cycle. Will you be magma, cooling to form igneous rock? Or sedimentary rock being broken into tiny pieces? Follow the rock journey and find out a bit more about this fascinating natural cycle.

Activity

2.00pm    To the Core

What’s underneath our planet’s surface? Make your own layered model of the Earth and uncover the truth about its structure. Looking at the world's inner and outer core, mantle, and crust, we explain the science behind the mysterious structural content responsible for the world's magnetic poles, earthquakes, and volcanoes.

Find us at The March Community Centre from 10.00am -3.30pm

Drop in anytime and one of our Communicators will be on hand to guide you through a journey of hands on exploration. No need to book.

Supported by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. Our weekend sessions are aimed at children from 7-11 years.
