About the event

Calling all budding scientists, engineers, and future innovators!

HALF TERM at March Community Centre

OUR THEME TODAY IS 'FENLAND FINDS.'

Open to the public this week from 10.00am to 3.30pm, families will be able to enjoy free entry to explore our hands-on STEM-based exhibits, join in with our shows or have a go at one of our activities.

Activity

11.00am   Design a Dinosaur

When people first imagined what dinosaurs looked like, they only had fossilised bones to look at. They didn’t know what their skin looked like, but the skeletons often looked a bit like lizards, so they made dinosaurs look a bit like lizards. We now know that some dinosaurs had feathers, and even fur, so let your imagination run wild as you reimagine what dinosaurs might have looked like.

Activity

2.00pm    Sniffing out finds

Find out about the work of the amazing dogs who are trained to sniff out palaeontological bones and finds, including of Crystal the Beagle from Fossils Galore. Test your own sense of smell and see what unusual smells you can identify. We will be hearing about these dogs today, rather than meeting them.

Find us at The March Community Centre from 10.00am -3.30pm

Drop in anytime and one of our Communicators will be on hand to guide you through a journey of hands on exploration. No need to book.

Supported by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. Our weekend sessions are aimed at children from 7-11 years.
