This week our STEMtots session is all about Construction. Toddlers can explore the fascinating world of building and tools through playful, hands-on activities.
Here’s what your toddler can enjoy:
- Tool bench fun: Grab a hammer, screwdriver, and other accessories at our toy tool bench—perfect for role-play, an introduction to new words and tools and for building fine motor skills.
- Build with big bricks: Stack, balance, and build using large bricks in this open-ended activity that encourages teamwork and problem-solving.
- Dig, scoop, and explore: A sensory tray filled with sand and diggers offers hands-on fun while introducing the basics of construction work.
- Match the words to the tools: Learn about essential construction items like boots, bricks and much more in this interactive matching game.
STEMtots brings science to life with playful activities that encourage curiosity, sensory exploration, and early scientific thinking. Run in blocks of six sessions during term-time, each session will revolve around a different theme. Sessions can be booked individually or as a block (with a small discount). They are free-flow sessions so you can turn up at any time during the session.
Our Science Communicators will be on hand throughout each session to help you and your family explore our exhibits and get the most out of our activities.
Sessions are designed to involve parents/carers so we do ask that you stay with children. Ticket price includes one child and one adult attending each session. Younger siblings are welcome to attend free of charge.
