Let’s dig into delicious discoveries at our next STEMtots session, The Food We Eat! This hands-on morning introduces preschoolers to the science of food through play, creativity, and sensory exploration.
Here’s what your little foodies can look forward to:
- Cooking in your kitchen: Whip up some fun in our play kitchen, encouraging imaginative role-play and early problem-solving skills.
- Sort and make a meal: Explore a tuff tray filled with toy foods for sorting by colour or building your very own meal. Perfect for learning about healthy eating!
- Potato printing fun: Use potatoes to create colourful prints and pattern.
- Sensory food play: Dive into bowls of salad leaves, rice, raw pasta, jelly, and more. Use spoons, tweezers, and little hands to explore textures, smells, and shapes.
STEMtots sessions are packed with activities that inspire curiosity and nurture early scientific thinking through fun, messy play. This week, it’s a feast of discovery!
Run in blocks of six sessions during term-time, each session will revolve around a different theme. Sessions can be booked individually or as a block (with a small discount). They are free flow sessions so you can turn up at any time during the session.
Our Science Communicators will be on hand throughout each session to help you and your family explore our exhibits and get the most out of our activities.
Sessions are designed to involve parents/carers so we do ask that you stay with children. Ticket price includes one child and one adult attending each session. Younger siblings are welcome to attend free of charge.
