Generous volunteers donate their time and expertise to the centre. For every exhibition we receive specialist help to design interactive exhibits and have enthusiastic volunteers to help our visitors engage with our work. You could be one of them.

Volunteering with the Cambridge Science Centre is a lot of fun.

Our team of volunteers play an important role in supporting our work, by helping the public to engage with our exhibits and by providing a friendly, personal experience for our visitors.
We welcome volunteers to help as on-gallery communicators at weekends and during busy school holidays, and also for one-off special events.

Volunteer information and training evenings

Our volunteer information and training evenings provide an opportunity for you to meet some of the staff, see the centre, have a play on the exhibits, and learn more about volunteering with us.

Our next volunteer evening event is on Wednesday 18th July, from 6-7.30 pm. We will be running a session on presenting activities in the centre, so that you may gain some tips and confidence in running events for the public. Please note that this event is aimed at volunteers who have attended previous training and information evenings, and have had some experience of working in the centre.

We will aim to run an information and training evening for new volunteers in the autumn. If you are interested in joining the volunteering team and would like to know more, please email us.

Summer volunteering rota

Below is the current rota for volunteering over the summer, which is regularly updated. If you have completed your training and would like to sign up for one or more of the 'available' shifts, please email volunteering@cambridgesciencecentre.org. We will confirm the shift with you within one to two working days.

Help support the centre

Donations help us to create exciting, interactive exhibitions and workshops, to inspire young people and get them hands-on with science. As little as £5 is all it takes. Our work wouldn't be possible without your support.
