Cambridge Science Centre is here to support children and young people to build a lifelong love of science through inspirational hands-on activities.
We exist to:
Spark the scientific curiosity that’s already within every child
Ignite a passion for STEM that leads to innovation and discovery
Fuel self-belief in children and young people, especially those that have limited access to STEM opportunities
Illuminate pathways into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and careers.
We make science fun And Friendly
All our science activities are hands-on and interactive. Our Communicators are full of energy and enthusiasm – they capture the imagination and attention of children of all ages.
We break down the barriers to stem
We take our exhibits and activities into schools, town halls, churches, city centre shops, sports halls – in fact almost anywhere! This allows us to reach out to all communities taking extra effort to build lasting relationships.
How many people do we reach?
In 2022 we travelled to over 30 community events, popping up at festivals and community venues. We’ve been fortunate to engage 39,000 of you at these events – and we love them!
We’re also a regular feature in schools – demand for our fabulous shows has exploded! 2022 was our busiest year yet with over 100 visits meeting 8,500 young people.
“The children all found the talk extremely interesting and they particularly enjoyed the practical creating the food web using the string. thank you to the facilitators for taking the time to listen to the children and answer their questions so thoroughly.”
