'STEM in the Fens' in Wisbech

Welcome to our Wisbech PopUpScience Centre.

We will be open from 10:30am to 2:45pm throughout half-term. Families can enjoy free entry to explore our hands-on STEM-based exhibits or have a go at one of our activities. We aim to run each activity at 11am and 1.30pm, but these times are subject to change depending on the number of visitors.

Our theme for this half-term is SPACE

Morning activity: Straw Rockets/Soyez Rockets

I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll.....launch a rocket? During this activity we will learn a bit about rockets, we will be thinking about the physics of how rockets move and making our own straw-powered paper rocket.

Afternoon activity: Pop Rockets

Rockets aren't all about fire and explosions, we can also use chemical reactions to make things take off. Explore the use of a chemical reaction to fuel a "rocket" made out of a film cannister.

Find us at the old ARGOS shop from 10:30am - 2:45pm 

Drop in anytime and one of our Communicators will be on hand to guide you through a journey of hands on exploration. No need to book.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times. Our sessions are aimed at children from 7-11 years.
