Designer Dinos

Book Now

Observe, identify and classify our prehistoric menagerie!

Imagine what dinosaurs might really have looked like and work together to create an ENORMOUS dinosaur of your own.

The objectives of this workshop are to:

  • To understand a little bit about a role of a palaeontologist.
  • To understand that the early assumptions made about the appearance of Dinosaurs is not necessarily correct.
  • To realise that ideas may change in response to further evidence.
  • To use creativity to reimagine the appearance of Dinosaurs.

What to expect

All of our workshops will start with a short welcome and introduction to the workshop to ensure students are aware of what to expect.

Dinosaur Guess who

This is an activity in which the children try to guess which dinosaur has been chosen through yes/no questions about its appearance.

What do we really know

Our Science Communicators will explain that we really do and don’t really know about dinosaurs.

Reimagining Dinosaurs

This activity will encourage students to use the skeletons to design their own dinosaurs ‘outsides’

Summary

We will offer a quick round-up and discussion of our learnings and will have one final discovery to share.
